I gotta tell you, I can't remember the last time I did an ice report on May 5th.
Unfortunately the only bay that is ice free right now on Vermilion, is the one that's closed to angling on the opener. :banghead:

Some progress was made over the weekend, but unless we see a big change in the next few days, there will only be a few areas where you can fish. The Pike bay narrows is open unfortunately you cant get there yet. I think by the weekend that will change soon but for now it's still ice bound.

Most of the main basin still has a solid ice sheet and it will take days of warm temps and wind to move that ice.
There is some open water in the Moccasin point area but it's very limited right now.

I haven't been up to the west end yet this week but I'm sure conditions are pretty much the same. Some open water but no way to get to those areas.

Pray for a warm sun and high winds. :help:
