The walleye/sauger bite this past week has really begun to pick up. We not only have been putting good numbers of fish in the boat but also some real quality fish with a few walleyes over 26 inches and a 23 inch sauger. Trolling leadcore and flatlines on top of the breaks with crankbaits has been the ticket for the walleyes during low light periods. The rest of the time pulling stickbaits on three ways a little deeper has been putting good numbers of saugers in the boat. It’s really nice to have options that will put fish in the boat all day long. The bass bite has also greatly improved on the many rip rap shorelines of Lake Pepin, we even put some fairly nice crappies in the boat the other day bass fishing. Lots of great options on the water right now and lots of fun to be had so get out there and have at em folks……
