As good as the bite is on Mille Lacs this year you would think there woud be more going on in this forum. Anyone fishing Mille Lacs?

I guess I had better start putting up some reports.

I'll be up tomorrow till Sunday. It is going to be hot! A buddy is there now and reported a spectacular after dark bite. He fished from about 12am to 4am and the best bite was the first hour. I have always had better luck towards the 3 and 4 hours.

I'll post up a report when I get back.

Just got a call from the lake....

This is what they said, "I'm sick of catching crappies!"

I am really excited now. The big ones are back and they are hungry. I guess my plan has changed now. Tonight I will catch some crappies, have a fish fry and then I will spend the dark hours chasing walleyes!

Should be a good weekend despite the heat.

 ;D ;D

This time I will post a report when I get back!

Last time I was up fishing was pretty good. Out of the East side we caught fish at everyspot I tried except one...I tried the gravel just east of hennepin which is always good for a couple easy fish and we caught nothing. we did screw around alot though.

This weekend its noting but seriousness ;D

Well here I am live from Mille Lacs....wireless connections are great.

I'm taking a break as I have some stuff to take care of. Last night was pretty good on the lake. The first spot I tried was pretty unproductive. I got out about 9:15 or so and tried some rocks that top out at around 11 feet. It is usually good for a few eaters but I only managed a couple 14 inch dinks that I threw back....enough with tha spot. I arrived at my next destination and got set up. I think my line was in the water by 10:30. By 11:30 I had two really nice 18 inch fish in the box and a 26 1/2 inch walleye that was released. I also managed an eelpout. Now things in the dark move much slower especially when you are alone. I'm sure if I would of had an extra hand we would of done bette, but 3 nice fish in an hour was not bad at all.

I tried crappies earlier in the evening and only caught two. You had to site fish them. They were pretty thick but just unresponsive. I guess the better bite was during the dayso as soon as I done with this I will probablyget out there.

Oh.....I forgot to mention this. My battery died on the lake and I was stranded out there. I ended up getting towed in. Charge your batteries! I am an idiot ;D
