Do you guys see more deer when the corn is up or cut?  I had a great spot picked out and the corn got cut over the week around the area and there is nothing close to it anymore. Where do they go?

If they havent tilledup the land yet it could turn out to be a very productive spot until the ground is black...

Otherwise I would say they went to the closest decent size woods, swamp or river bottom even if it is a mile away .

GOOD LUCK AND LET ME KNOW WHAT HAPPENED!!!

One guy that usually hunts the south end of the property wasnt there so I sat in his box stand over some of the last standing corn and two does came out to a waterway in the corn and I dropped one and missed the other. It was a small one but I thought it was bigger.  I will probably be sitting over the cut corn this week and will see how it pans out.

You will see a lot more deer when its harvested for sure. Your best bet is to find the route that they are using from the bedding areas to the harvested corn, back off the trail a bit and hang a stand.

When the corn is still up, they really have no need to leave except for water, they allready have cover and food in the standing corn. Now they have to leave to find cover, so you will see them on route more often.

I wish I was in your shoes right now, sounds like you have a great spot.

I have better luck when the corn is down. That is only if there is bedding areas adjacent to the field.

There is an area on the property that is about 2 acres that is tall grass and sapling trees. It is surrounded by fields and the deer were bedding in there like crazy before the corn was cut but now I am not sure if they are there any more. Do you guys think that they would abandon a bedding area because of this? It is wide open now all around this 2 acre area, but it is cut corn so it is a food source.
