I'm reading through the rules & regulations regarding spring turkey huting with a bow.  I'm not understanding it 100%.  If you get selected in a lottery for the first time period for example, can you then not hunt the last two weeks with a bow whether you get a turkey the first time period or not?  Am I reading that wrong?  I'd rather have 2 weeks instead of 1 if that's the case.

I am not 100% sure, but I believe only one turkey can be tagged period. Some one please correct me if I am mistaken.

I think that makes sense that you can't get more than one turkey the entire spring.  BUt the way it sounds to me is that you can't even hunt the last two weeks with a bow if you get selected in the lottery.  Even if you don't get a turkey during the first time period.

In Wisconsin we have the lottery, and then their are left over tags for the last 2 seasons that you can buy over the counter/internet. I think you can shoot as many birds as you want.  $10 per extra tag for a resident it think.

i aint to familuar with it either. i do plan on entering this year so i can maybe bag my first turkey. but i beleive the limit is one bearded bird and hens can be shot in the fall i think, dont qoute me on that. best thing to do is call some sporting goods place like gandermountian or something, but i wouldnt reccommend that. just call the dnr and ask them that way its for sure right!

"Lottery applicants that are successful in the 2009 spring turkey lottery will not be eligible to purchase an archery spring turkey license." This came right from the bottom of the document that you gave the link for.

I have called the DNR about it and you cannot purchase an archery only turkey license if you won the lottery. If you intend to hunt with your bow there is no reason to put in for the lottery as long as your permit area meets the requirements of the archery only license. Your permit area has to have at least 50 permits in its lottery to be open to the archery only license.

Hope that helps

Even if you apply for the lottery and don't get drawn you can't hunt the archery season is what I have been told by calling the DNR. If you don't make plans to go during the shotgun season it is better off not applying.
If today was perfect. There would be no need for tomorrow.

Excellent.  Thanks for the replies everyone.  I knew was was on the DNR website, it was a bit unclear in how they worded it.  At least I thought so.
