Does anyone have a homemade cure for a female dog with a bladder infection? She's urinated in the house 3 times over the last few days and when were in the yard she pee's every 30 seconds.

I thought of calling a vet, to see if there was something I can do without bringing her in, but i figure they would just say to get her on meds.

I also need to get rid of the urine smell in the house, i cleaned the carpets allready and used a couple of different deodorizers and cleaners, but the smell is still there. Does anyone have any ideas or a better solution?

Yes you can go to a feed store and purchase penicillan and give her a shot for the next 5 days or take her in request amoicillan(this is the cheapest antibiotic) if they say they want to do x-rays for crystals tell them you want to try antibiotics first. This is real common in female dogs.  I  think I have the pounds per cc if you need for the penicillan. Drop me a pm if you go this route. You need to clear this up soon as it can make for alot more problems, especially if she starts peeing blood.

I did end up going in and talking to a vet last week, they told me that they absolutely had to give her an exam and they would not prescribe any meds, I think they quoted me $100 to $150 including an overnight stay (which they said was very common).

I refused to do this and have been giving her Cranberry juice daily for 5 days now.

She seems to be cured allready. Could this not of been a bladder infection and maybe something else?

Where do you take your dog to the vet mine would charge about 50.00 for office call and amoxicillin.

I have never tried cranberry juice. If she truly has a bladder infection I do think she will need antibiotics. I'll drop you a pm
