Lake Geneva's diehard trollers

12/31/08 Two diehard trollers with the ice closing in on them manage some big eyes out of Lake Geneva to welcome in the New Years Eve.


Hit Geneva with my buddy captain Erik yesterday evening. He graciously gave me first fish and I was rewarded with a beautiful birthday walleye, my best ever. I didn't have a scale but the fish was well over ten pounds, probably eleven plus; 29 inches and fat. This big girl is still swimming. Awesome four hours fishing on the edge of the ice flow. Hoping to make it out once or twice yet this year. Thanks again Erik.

My God those are beautiful Walleyes!  The guy in the first picture looks either stunned or literally frozen.
