Honey-dew list

I don't know about everyone elso but I generally use the time between now and fishing opener to get as much of the  list done.  So far I am 1/2 way done with a bathroom remodel and the next big thing on the list is a new bedroom in the basement for my oldest daughter. 

Does anyone else do the same thing or do you do the list when asked? 

What are things that are on your honey-dew list?

My Honey Do List is never ending... The wife writes it with carbon paper so I can't change it!...This weeks project is a rolling baking station for the newly remodel kitchen. Solid oak with walnut trim it will be the new pizza / bread making butcher block. I got the idea from Home Depot but will make it for a 1/3 of the 800.00 they wanted up there.

I have rows of 25 foot pines around the permiter of my property.  Today the wife said we should trim the bottom branches (most were on the ground in the snow).  I got the wheeler and chain saw going.  About 30 trees later, one dull chain, and one heck of a brush pile we were done.  Other than that I've been finishing a basement at my sons house.  Rec room with gas fireplace, bed room, walk in closet and bath room.  So far I have all the rough in done.  Stud walls, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, gas to fireplace and all the low voltage you could ever use (rewired the house with CAT5 and RG6 to all rooms).  Looks like sheetrock is next.  Any volunteers?  We have 585 sq ft of ceiling and 1480 sq ft of walls.  I plan to do this myself unless I get a good price someplace.  Any idea what this should cost?

Kitchen cabinets and countertops. Buddy is building the cabinets for me at a decent price, and we are still milling over the countertops. I'm sure a sink and maybe even some other things will be added, but it's the least I can do, she puts up with me gone all the time.....

I plan on installing it all at least a week before trout opener down here. Them cabinets better be frickin ready!

At my house we have a Honey- Don't List due to my severe unfortunate lack of handy man project capabilities. Therefore about everything Me Lady wants done gets put on the Honey's To Do Wish List. So, obviously the list has to be limited to (no pork projects) until we can afford some outside labor.

Now don't get me wrong, the boss still finds plenty of unskilled labor type jobs for a poor sole like myself, so I don't have to feel left out completely.  Unfortunately for  most of my quality May-October time is taken up being a fishing guide  and my manual labor availability time is limited. I must say that since Me Lady has retired last year it's sure nice to arrive home from a grueling day at the lake to find the grass mowed, leafs raked, and the garbage cans set out for pick up.

For some reason things still seem to work out around here without a Honey- Dew List.

We just purchased our first home, somewhat of a fixer upper. At this point the list is daunting.
Kitchen cabinets, new carpet, new paint, new screens on the porch, fix the shed door, new windows, trim the privacy trees, finish the basement, new hot water heater, fix the fridge....
Her van - new brakes, change oil
My truck - new windshield, new water pump (I think), serpintine belt, U-joints, ball joints, fix exhaust leak.....
I'm coming up on 20 years old next week, so I don't really have a lot of experience with some of this "handyman" work.

Since my wife and bought a second house in November let me count the ways...

1. Finish tax returns for clients
2. Finish 4 more weeks class - Then 4 weeks off
3. Replace ceramic tile in walk way
4. Layout where the bar will be in the basement
5. Hang on wall TV in basement above bar
6. Paint walls in basement
7. Replace trim in basement
8. Start deweeding rocks around the house
9. Pay for gutters to be installed
10. Build up around the house
11. Build fence around the backyard
12. Build / buy desk for downstairs office
13. Get carpet installed downstairs
etc, etc, etc...

Anyone have $20k I could borrow or want to buy our other house? See you next winter...

Here is some pictures of the new bread/baking cart for the wife's kitchen. I made this in the wood shop this past week and already she has something else on her Do List.. Solid Oak with Walnut trim. Wood block top is sealed with mineral oil the rest has three coats of poly on it. 32x24 top..
