I'm not saying we don't have a good fisheries. I'm just saying that we could have the same fisheries for less money if the DNR would stick to thier bussiness of managing fish resorces and leave the bussiness of raising them to private sector. Could even be a better fisheries than now if they wanted to continue the same spending.

Bottomline is the private sector cares about the efficiency of production where as the DNR workers do not. It's a simple fact that one's paycheck depends on it the other does not.

The only problem I see with using only private hacteries is how the quality of the fish will be when they are under so much demand to be pumping out so many fish because the DNR doesn't have their hacteries. Some business only care about quantity and not quality, and I hope this wont be the case with the private hatcheries.

As I stated in another post the DNR would still have to monitor quality as I'm sure some individuals may not have much concern over that matter. Also I mentioned not to close the hatcheries. Just use themm to hatch the fry for planting in lakes. When it comes to raising fingerlings they should stay out of it. They are not efficient at doing it.

I like the idea of saving money, however I am worried about the Minnesotans that would lose there jobs over this... Even if they went to the privet sector I am sure they would never be able attain the same pay and benefits they had with their state job.. It is a hard choice to make.. I would like to see how much we as tax payers would be saving before I made up my mind on this topic. I understand these hard economic times call for savings, but I would just like to remind people we are talking about peoples lives here. I have lost my job because it looked good on paper.. Thank god I am only a college student and have my whole life to make money! My heart really goes out to those that have families to feed that have lost there Jobs.
