Well tis the season again-tonka is FREE OF ICE!  I was out last night we got a few crappies not a lot but they were good sized-look to the north side of the bays(these area will warm up faster than other areas)-If you can get into the little pocket bays Id look there first. I still see a lot of fish stageing in deeper water 14-20ft of water but for some reason they wouldnt bite. Surface temp has beenaround 54-56 degrees, they should be on the move soon! Had a great day on Tonka! In about 3 hours 3 of us caught about 50 fish. We took home 10 each for dinner. Man its been a while since I had a good fish fry...Tonight is the night!!
 ;D

Fished in about 5-6 feet of water. We got there around 10:30 and as soon as our lines hit the water we started catching fish. I saw about 10-15 boats come and go from the area we were in but noone else was catching much.   I caught all but one on a small plain hook with a crappie minnow. I tried a couple of my go-to crappie jigs but couldn't get them to go on that. They were also biting very light! Good day!
