I went down to my spot yesterday morning and right away I had two gobblers moving to my call. I thought they were on the ease side of the tree line i was sittin on so i moved as i called , I heard some more gobbles and decided to go back to my first spot. 10 minutes later twi giant toms came struttin' no more than 15 yards away from the number 2 spot!  :bonk:  :doah: I watched them walk by with no shot . I tried to double back around on them but they dissapeared! So later that day i went back, one call and they were gobblin again! I moved to spot number two and tried to calm down because I knew they were close ! After 5-10 min of calling a giant ,true giant turkey came struttin' on the same trail he was at in the morning. he walked behind a tree and turned perfectly broad side I  never walked the distance from where I was to that tree so I had no clue how far to judge the shot. I guessed 42 yards. From my knees I drew back and put the 40 yrd pin just above the wing (only pulling 50 lbs so arrow should drop a hair if my judgeing was off) I released only to have the arrow go just over his big back and clank in the trees! I couldn't believe it ! He took off running of course :doah: I went target praticing after that shot and found out when I shoot from a sittin or kneeling position I was shooting 6-8 inches higher than my pins! When I stood up and shot my pins were dead on .
Pratice doesn't make perfect, Perfect pratice makes perfect!
