Just an update on our two DEM Senators and how they voted.  I personally called each of their offices and told them I wanted a yes vote on this.  We need more people involved and also join the NRA!

Two weeks ago, we lost by TWO votes in the senate to make an
amendment to the defense budget filibuster proof. Of course Amy
Klobachur and Al Franken voted against us. What they were
voting on was OUR national right to carry.

That's right, if you recall from your class with us, we tell
you that every year, a bill for national reciprocity is
introduced in Congress and the Senate whereby your MN carry
permit would be accepted by all 50 states (much like a drivers
license). We also state in our class that it never gets very
far. This year it did get out of committee.

If it were a straight up vote, we would have won 58 - 39. But
we lost as a procedural move was agreed to by both sides of the
Senate. The agreement was to let the amendment come up for a
full vote and if the amendment got 60 votes, then no
fillabuster. Or let the Democrats filibuster the bill on a
straight up vote.

So we lost by two votes per the procedural agreement. We needed
60 votes to make the bill filibuster proof and we lost.

Perhaps Franken can take time the next time to 1) read the bill
and not be distracted by asking a Supreme Court nominee what
Perry Mason episode is her favorite.
