Yes... Congratulations to the Minnesota Twins and all of us diehard fans. It has been a great season, definitely the most exciting season since 1987.

Twins quiet KC to clinch playoff berth
Bonser two-hits Royals through 6 2/3 innings
By Kelly Thesier / MLB.com

MINNEAPOLIS -- Clinching a spot in the playoffs seemed an impossible task for the Twins nearly four months ago, but on Monday night, that's exactly what the club did by defeating the Royals, 8-1, at the Metrodome.
Entering Monday with their magic number at two, the Twins were given the chance to secure a playoff berth after the White Sox suffered a 14-1 loss at Cleveland earlier in the night to reduce the Twins' magic number to just one.

The crowd erupted in the fifth inning during Torii Hunter's at-bat when the White Sox score was made final, knowing that a win would eliminate Chicago from the playoff race and give the Twins at least the Wild Card.

Thanks to a stellar outing on the mound by Boof Bonser, the Twins were able to capture that win. Bonser (7-5) pitched 6 2/3 innings, giving up just one run on two hits as he walked two and struck out five.

Three RBI singles would drive in the first three of the Twins' runs as Joe Mauer delivered one in the first, Jason Tyner hit one in the fourth and Nick Punto added another in the sixth.

Hunter blasted his 30th home run of the year, a two-run, 433-foot shot over the center-field wall, in the seventh to put the Twins up, 5-1. The 30 home runs sets a new career high for Hunter, and it's the first time that two Twins players have reached that mark in a single season since 1987.

Minnesota now trails Detroit by just one game for the American League Central lead with six games to play. To win the division, the Twins must finish ahead of the Tigers, as Detroit holds the tie-breaker by winning the regular-season series between the two teams, 11-8.

This has been an amazing year for them.  I know I was not the only person that thought they were done a couple of months into the season.  I don't know how they have won as many games as they have with all of the injuries and so many rookie pitchers, but I am not going to complain about it.
