The hard water fishing season is fast tracking upon us.  The weather the next few days looks like highs of 10 degrees with lows of 10 below with light winds.  The ice on the main lake should heal up if the weather holds. On the south end of the lake Macs Twin Bay has 4 to 6 inches of walking ice as of Saturday with no one out past the bay at this time.  The same holds true for Isle Bay and north of Malone Island.  First ice is a CAUTION situation that should only be attempted during daylight hours.  Make sure you check the thickness of the ice drilling holes as you head out.  I would suggest using an access out of a resort for current up to date ice conditions.

Be safe, see we'll ya on the water!
