We experienced some bitter cold temperatures and high pressure much of the past week. It looks like we are going to start warming up going into this week. There isn't one night predicted to be below zero on the 10 day forecast. Day time highs look to be in the 20s for most of the upcoming week. Those temps are tough to beat this time of year!

Fishing was a little slower during the past week. The temperature change should only make fishing better! We are currently moving houses 4+ miles out onto the deep mud flats north of Pine Island in 31' of water. There is 22-24” of ice in the areas we are fishing. We are still seeing lots of Saugers, which provide plenty of action to make for an entertaining day. Many of the Walleye coming through the holes are perfect eaters, with a few slot fish here and there. The best bite in the deeper water has been in the afternoon versus the morning. There has been no shortage of fish to watch on the flashers this winter. Getting them to bite has been a bit more difficult this past week. Hopefully the weather change will help get the fish more active the next few days.

At the end of each month this winter we will be giving away over $500 worth of fishing gear to a lucky guest. A Vexilar, rods and reels, rod bag, fishing chair, and an assortment of ice fishing accessories are included in each months drawing. Stay at least 2 nights and fish 2 days with us and you can enter the drawing to win.

Congrats to Dave McDonald on his 30” Walleye he caught this past week (pictured below).

Fish On!
