July has officially come and gone. What a month of fishing! We had some great weather this past week, and the fish cooperated too. Everyone has been leaving with limits of Walleye and eating fish during their time here as well. There were a good number of fish caught from 28-30 inches during the beginning of the past week. However, fishing the past few days has turned into more of a numbers game. We're seeing good numbers of eating sized Walleyes in the 16-19.5” range. The big fish seem to be spotty. Some days you catch a bunch of them and other days you may only find a few in that 19.5-28 inch protected slot.

Our guides have been spending most of their time fishing the south end of the lake. We’re out in the deep mud on most days in 30-34 feet of water. Drifting with a spinner rig and a night crawler has been the way to go. Downrigging has been just as good. There hasn’t been a go to color pattern either. Gold, silver, red, and white spinners have all be producing.

Now that it's August already, we are starting to think about fall fishing. If this year's spring and summer fishing is any indicator, this fall should be a good one. There are some dates booking up so if you are thinking of a trip this fall, now is the time to call. Also, don't forget about our pheasant hunt club, which will be open from September 25th - October 25th.
