Great weather and great fishing! The Walleye bite is ON! Guests haven’t had a problem taking limits of Walleye home on top of eating fish during their stay. We’re seeing great numbers of eater Walleye in the 16-19.5” range. Big fish are still being caught as well. There were several fish caught in the 27-30” this week as well, not to mention a pile of fish in the low to mid 20” range. The Sauger action has picked up too. However, many of them are running small.

Our guides are spending the majority of their time fishing the south end of the lake in the deep mud. There’s a pile of fish out there! AND it’s a reasonably short boat ride, which means more fishing time! 30-34’ seems to be holding the most fish. We’ve fished farther north around Knight Island, Bridges, Garden and Little Oak on occasion as well. The action up there has been good too. Drifting with a spinner rig and a crawler has been the ticket. Downrigging is also producing.

Now that it's August, we are starting to think about fall fishing. If this year's spring and summer fishing is any indicator, this fall should be a good one. There are some dates booking up so if you are thinking of a trip this fall, now is the time to call. Also, don't forget about our pheasant hunt club, which is open from September 25th - October 25th. Charter fish one day and pheasant hunt the other!
