Went out last night and did not see anything, but turkeys...3 Pilliated woodpeckers in the same tree...and almost had a sparrow hawk land on me.  Thank god I moved my arm to have him peel off!  I am guessing the claws on that baby would have done some damage!

I saw a total of 6 deer.  1 of them was a small 6 pointer.

Made a try on a coyote, but missed! :banghead:  He was about 40 yards through the small brush.

Saw a little buck that had a broken skull from last year, and now this year the same broken horn is coming out of the middle of his head and straight forward.  Kind of cool looking, but may get him in trouble next year as the points off the main beam grow down toward his skull a little further.

saw 6 does as well, 3 right around my stand for some time.  All and all an excellent opening evening sit.

Saw just one buck, a small 6-pointer.  Alot of does and fawns, there is a big group of 9 hanging in our woods, so im hoping for some bucks to start following in a few weeks.  Could have shot some of the does, and even had a shot at the 6-pointer, but decided that it is a long season.
I was out this morning and saw 3 does - im sure part of the group ive been seeing.
Ill be out again in 2 weeks, good luck to everyone that will be going out this week, I hope the bucks start coming out a little earlier.

My son and I hunted last nigh and this morning.  We saw 8 deer.  One nice buck stayed out at 40 yds and there was too much brush to chance a shot.

Went out Saturday morning. Had 1 doe with her lil one walk around for 15 minutes and bed down under my tree. 4 Does and no Bucks that morning. Went out this afternoon and had 3 Does and 1 six point under me till a Pitbull came tearing through the woods and went after the yearling. Looks like I wasnt the only one looking for Deer. Pitbull didnt stop--was his lucky day.

2hounds, you will have to put some doggy snacks out for that pit bull. Shouldn't this thread be in archery?
