We had a couple people in our party see a few deer today.  They were in the brush, so no shot were taken yet.  Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day.

We are 8 for 10 today, seen tons of deer, could have limited but passed on some small ones 2 bucks and 6 does/button bucks.

seen two dandy bucks but one for safety reason's didn't get shot and the other, Nolan had two bucks walking together and they had their heads down. He shot what he thought was the big boy and turned out he shot the wrong one and shot the spike.

Maybe get the big guy tomarrow

 safe and happy hunting everyone

Right around home here the deer are way and I mean WAY down. I can tell by the number of shots heard. Two lone shots this AM and another guy emptied his gun. Tonight not a shot was heard. The usual around here would be roughly 1-2 shots a minute for the first hr or 2.

I think it might also have something to do with our area got moved from zone 4 to zone 2. So maybe hunters are being more selective since they now have a 9 day season where as b4 the first w/e was only 2 days.

That still doesn't change the fact that deer are down. Five yrs ago we had fifty deer heard up in our yard over winter last yr it was 6. I don't expect to see a bumper harvest

???  east brainerd, not a deer in the party but a coyote , breezy  and rather cool with a full moon seamed to keep them holding tight to cover.  finely at 5;30 pm a nice buck about 6pt.  and 5 minuets later 5 big does enter the field and now it is realy to dark to tempt a shot! so see what the morning will bring with a wind out of the sse .  GOOD LUCK HUNTERS AND BE SAFE!!!!!!!!!

Just got word last night that my cousins 16 yr old boy got his first deer. A nice eleven point is what his sister said. I'm going to see if I can get a photo or something.

That looks like a nice buck.

My group of 9 guys got 6 deer on Saturday (which was the goal) and spent Sunday cutting them up.  I let a couple of does go on Saturday morning, but planned on shotting the first one I saw at night.  I think I was in my stand around 2:30 and shot my deer by 3:00.  While I was gutting that one out my brother was on the other side of the field and shot two more.  I went and gutted those out for him and was back in my stand by 4:00, but nothing else came out.  Not a bad opening weekend, but I think the number of deer is down quite a bit from the last couple of years.

Good couple of days near Scandia.  Bro-in-law and I hit 3 total Sat and Sun, 2 spikes and I got a good sized 8 yesterday.  Sorta fun, 60 yd. shot with my rifled 870 w/ tru-glo open sights in the woods...nowhere is safe!!! ;D ;)
