Took my good friends from Mpls for the last hunt of the season... it was brutally cold here in ND, wind chills -20 F  but they stuck it out... even when the furnace in my old airstream deer camp gave out.   Colin the son got his first buck with a bow a real trophy... a 2 1/2 year old 4x5.... my neighbor had caught the fawn when haying and put a calf ear tag in him 2 years ago.   Deer was shot out of a Double bull blind 25 yds.  His dad is going to have it mounted for him.  His Dad and I got the skunk hat... but when you have a deer hunting place I seem to get more enjoyment of a new hunter like Colin taking his first deer always a trophy... dinner that night of fresh backstraps and tenderloins... he will always remember this.

Congrats to the kid on his first buck with a bow.  I know what you mean about helping a kid with his first deer.  We had on in our camp this year.  Really cool about the ear tag.

Ear tag has got to stay in!!!
Take a kid hunting and fishing... It'll be the best thing for generations to come.

Hunting is not life and death. It is more important than that.

I will have to remember to use a zip tie and a tag if I catch one. :happy1:

Handle every stressful situation like a dog.  If
you can't eat it or hump it.

Piss on it and walk away
