Had a nice time at Pelican last weekend.  The surface water temps are in the upper fifties and from the looks of all the boats the crappies are biting.   We were up duck hunting.  That was pretty much a bust.  The guys that went to Nett did well.  We did not fish long and were not after crappies but with all the boats out there in the afternoon I assume there is a reason.  We caught eyes, pike and smallies.  Jig and minnow although I was told the crawler bite was still going at the bait shop.  We didn't even try crawlers.  No need.
