We just got done with some very warm weather the last few days that has really helped drop some of the snow levels.  Temps are beginning to lower which should firm up the lakes in the Ely area by next weekend.
Travel will still be best by snowmobile for moving to fishing areas quite a distance from the landings, but an ATV should be OK if staying closer.  I would not take a pickup truck on any of the larger lakes as there may be some double layers of ice and occasional pockets of slush, especially in bays where the snow is still deep.
We may be able to salvage the last month of Trout season with this change in the weather :happy1:
