The Department of Natural Resources will hold a public meeting Tuesday in Wausau to discuss the status of the deer herd in Marathon County.

Hunters and others interested can meet with DNR officials, who will discuss the current population of the deer herd and the strategy used to manage the herd in various areas. The structure of deer hunting seasons and chronic wasting disease also are on the agenda.

The meeting will be held Tuesday, March 15th at 6 p.m. at John Muir Middle School, 1400 West Stewart Ave. in Wausau.
