Just wondering if anyone has found any deer sheds, how big, and if anyone has noticed if  any bucks have been running around with only one side of horns. Just wondering...... LUVNLIFE

Took the dog for a walk and she came back with one.

Well I had to try it.

Went for a walk with the dog. Give it the  antler that it found and let it give it back to me for which I rewarded it with a doggy treat. Then we proceded for a walk in the same area where it found the shed. After about 3 minutes the dog came back with another antler for which it was rewarded with another doggy treat. The second shed was about the same size as the first, so I'm assuming that it was from the same deer.

Now is it a coincidence or fluke? I hope this thing could continue as how neat would that be to have a shed hunting partner that could litterally sniff them out? :o You can bet your sweet petunias I will be trying this again. Hopefully I'm on to something.

Hey dog people! How do ya train dogs to hunt sheds?

Should be heading up this weekend to Grand Rapids and will keep an eye out for the sheds.

Hey Griz - how much to rent your dog for a weekend? ::)

This snow won't help things....I'm going to go check out a couple bedding areas tomorrow. I have seen some pretty big bucks bedding there and am patiently awaiting the fall of the antlers. If only they dropped there.

Griz that is great about your dog. Maybe you have something there. We didn't even look over the week-end, too much snow. It's going to be tough now. My husband saw a nice buck over the week-end with horns yet. How big were the ones you gound Griz?

The ones the dog found would make a real small basket 8.
