I live in the north metro (Otsego area).  I love to smoke carp and sucker.  I am looking for a place in the area of fish them.   I love the fight of catching these even though a lot of people hate catching them.

I have fished for carp under the bridge near downtown Elk River (I guess it would be the east end) where it crosses the Mississippi. Seems to me we did pretty well.

Go to the website smokingmeatforums.com and check out the fish brining recipes.  I brine the carp/sucker for at least 24 hours.  Put them in the smoker with hickory, mesquite or apple wood.  When they come out tasting like ham.  I like it and so do the neighbors, family and co-workers.

Like to catch a few for my new smoker. What do you use for bait? Is there a limit? What size is the best for smoking? Thanks
