I don’t think we are going to see summer this year. temps on the water are staying right around that 63 degrees and they don’t seem to change.
I was on Winnie the last couple days and the fishing is still holding up pretty good, out biggest problem is catching the fish under the slot to keep. there are lots of 18-23 inch fish biting right now and its been a great time. The fish have really been showing up on the north bars and small humps. I have been catching them on the edges in the 22-24 ft of water. You can still get by with a jig and minnow and there is an ample supply of shiners still available. I have been using a 3/8 oz northland gumball jig out deep like that and it has been really turning on the fish. You can use a rig with a 4-6 ft snell and a leech or crawler if you choose, they have been biting on that also but you know me I love that jigging. There are still some fish in the shallows with a good wind blowing you will get them to bite and the shallow rocks have been the same. So get out there if you can handle the weather the fish are still going strong
good luck fishing
