CROSBY - Oars-N-Mine Bait and Tackle, Jesse Williams, 22640 Hwy 6 N (218-546-6912)
Walleyes: This past week’s mild weather turned a lot of our walleye fisherman towards crappie mode, but the guys still dangling shiners are catching enough fish to keep them busy. A couple lakes that have been consistent are Pelican and Rabbit, with Serpent and a few other area lakes still kicking out a few fish as well. Pike: Tip-ups worked along the weeds of the area’s best pike lakes will produce great results with giant shiners or suckers. Some really nice fish have been caught in the last week here, with a 42” caught and released on an area lake just Saturday by a crappie fisherman. Darkhouse spearing has been very good so far, with a lot of fish moving. Panfish: Crappie anglers have found good bites on a few smaller area lakes. A couple of lakes are giving up both sunnies and crappies out of the same holes. The hot ticket as of late has been a small Maynard’s jig tipped with a wax worm or a small crappie minnow. A flasher or some sort of electronics would be a good idea here, primarily because the fish are concentrated in areas, but not any specific depth in the water column.

CROSSLAKE - Holiday of Cross Lake, 35610 Cty. Rd. 66 Crosslake, Lee (218-692-2708)
Quiet week around the area last week.  A few guys are going out for eyes.  Open water is still running through the White Fish chain because the corp is still allowing water through the damn, so watch out when on the ice.  On the upper Whitefish chain where the ice is better, more are getting out and some good reports of walleyes and crappies biting are coming in.  Call us for the latest.
If a gun kills people then I can blame a pen for my misspells?
