DULUTH - Fisherman's Corner, Scott, 7 miles north of Miller Mall on Hwy 53, www.fishycorner.com (218-729-5369)
We’ve got good ice on area lakes.  Pike Lake has about 5 to 6 inches of ice and a good walleye bite going in about 18-21 feet of water on rainbow chubs or rosies.  Fish Lake has about 7 inches of ice with the eye bite happening in about 10 to 12 feet of water on rainbow chubs.  Boulder Lake has 8 to 9 inches of ice and the eyes are biting in the evenings there too on rainbow chubs.  The reports from the big lake, Superior, are fare.  Loopers and some coho are hitting blown up crawlers on the bottom when casting out from shore.  Havn’t heard much from the river yet.
DULUTH - Marine General, 1501 London Road, on the edge of Lake Superior, www.marinegeneral.com (218-724-8833)
On Lake Superior the loopers and lakers are biting from shore and trolling off the river mouths.  Knife river and two harbors both have boat landings open still.  Try bright spoons, bombers, ripsticks for best results. The smaller the better it seems.  On the upper St. Louis River, the walleyes are beginning to bite.  Boulder and Fish Lake have about 9 inches of ice and the walleyes and crappies seem to be biting on glow jigs and minnows.
If a gun kills people then I can blame a pen for my misspells?
