This past Wednesday I had off of work and planned an evening hunt over my food plot. I headed out about 11am to get my cameras out of woods and on the way i found a dead buck fawn that was gut shot laying right on my 4wheeler trail that boarders the property line. so i was a bit upset at witch i thought the neighbors that gun hunt the woods i bow hunt shot it but never found it. I then went home a checked cameras to find a guy and kid walking in my food plot the night before witch no one has permission to be! So i called the neighbors that hunt and asked them if anyone shot one and they said no that no one has been out there for few days. So at this point i am lil fired up and went back out to where the deer was and back tracked the blood trail to find that it was shot in my food plot!  I was about to get the DNR involved but decided to go talk to another neighbor who moved a stand right on the line by my food plot and said i could hunt out of it and no one else would be using it. When i got there he was not home but his wife said someone was out there and shot a deer but could not find it so i asked for her husbands number and called him witch he then gave me the number of the guy who was out there. I called that guy and questioned him and he said it was on the line when he shot it. SO then i asked him to come get his deer and i would meet him out there. shortly after he arrived and i took him to the deer and then asked where he shot it, he pointed out in the crp and then i go thought you said it was on line then he switched the spot he shot it.At this point i am boiling and ready to snap and go just admit it cuz i know you shot it over there. I could see he was nervous and lying cuz he would not even look at me. after me letting him have it a lil more he did admit to it. so I let him have it a bit longer about trespassing and giving people a bad name and told him if he ever shoots or steps on the property again that the dnr will be involved but i wont call them now. I made him gut the deer and tag it and then i left on my 4wheeler and left him with like a 1/2 mile drag... And to find out last year he shot a nice 8 point on the neighbors land he said... then i questioned that and he got nervous again so maybe he didnt or maybe he did not sure. Going to talk to the neighbor that let him hunt there and figure whats going on?! So needless to say i never got out hunting cuz i was to busy investigating!

I think you handled it very well.  He more than got the point.  I know it cost you a days hunt but maybe you got something else out the this experience.

It's pretty f-ing simple. I want to hunt....so, I need the associated gear, a license/tag and a place to hunt. My options are public land or private land. If I don't opt for public, I have to have permission for private. If I don't get permission on for private land, but choose to hunt on private land, I'm trespassing. Then I risk legal issues, and ass chewing and perhaps even an ass whippin'.
Obviously there are all the chuckleheads willing to risk it simply because they apparently don't like the regulations/rules and have no care for the rest of us who take the time to plan things out.
Last night I took my 13yr old out w/me bowhunting. Got to the stand and found a bottle of piss and a bottle that some jackass put his smokes out in. Then I glass him up but 90yds away in blaze orange carrying a shotgun. So not only is he trespassing, he's gun hunting in a bow only area. I'm not so torked that we didn't see anything, but the reality is my kid has to learn that's what it's like out there. To hell w/my kids vision of a nice night on stand w/his dad. He get's to see what another "hunter" left us in the stand and witness him walking thru the bedding area of the property we have permission.
A CO was called and came out but was just a few minutes behind the guy and he left before the CO could find him. By the way the guy also left a piss bottle in the standthe night before because when I got to the stand in the am I found the 1st present he left.
We all have three memorable trips in our lives...the first one, the last one and the next one.

Too bad the CO was late.  Maybe you could have followed him to his car and got a plate number.  I know that wouldn't help much but it would stop him from comming back.

Last year I saw a blob of orange walking one of the ridges on our property. I got out of the stand and ran after the guy to tell him he was tresspassing. Here the guy was walking around carrying a semi-auto rifle which looked to me like an M-16. He told me the neighbors allowed him to hunt and he must have crossed the line somewhere so I directed him back to the property line. Turns out he did not have permission and wrecked my morning hunt. Some people have no respect for people / rules.

"" Got to the stand and found a bottle of piss and a bottle that some jackass put his smokes out in. """

What thought process does this guy have to be worried about pissing in a bottle while sitting there smoking cigs!!!

On the smoking thing, I don't know, many of the guys I know that hunt smoke on stand, and some even put their clothes in the smoke from a wood fire prior to going out.  They seem to kill bucks more often than I do.  I know my brother has killed many nice deer and he smokes, and even builds himself a nice warming fire occasionally while he waits.  I freeze in a tree, use scent block spray, scent block deodorant, hunt the same properties, and finally killed my 1st decent buck this season, after 21 years of trying.

I have had several people walk out onto our property over the years, just at first good shooting light and mess up my hunt after I took the time and effort to get out early so the woods would be undistrubed for 1/2 before shooting light.

My son ran into the same thing last week seen some guy walking in the bedding area so he got down went to talk to him and the  :censored: wipe yelled at him for wreaking his hunt while trespassing so he called the land owner of both sides and the butt head is no longer to hunt any where around there.
