We are blessed with a pretty steady rain here at the Lake of No Fish.  I say blessed because we need it.  Cursed because it is the first day of Muzzy season.  Weather reports say it will turn over to  snow later today.  Expectations are accumulations of 1 to 2 inches.  I hope they are right because I can deal with snow.  I am not going out in this  :censored:.   :banghead: :banghead:

I'm with you, DDS.  I stayed home and will wait untill nicer weather before venturing out with the muzzle loader.  I have spent quite a few days out with the bow and rifle so don't need hunting "fix" just yet.  Maybe tomorrow.  :rotflmao:

We had rain yesterday afternoon in Western SD.  Then it changed to snow over night and we have 3-4 inches on the ground this morning.

rofferneil, Not really sad news for me.  Let me explain.  I'm retired and hunt my own land so I can deer hunt most anytime from the middle of September until the end of December.  Why would I hunt on days when I consider the weather bad when I can hunt on many days when it nice out?  I don't have a problem seeing/shooting deer so I just perfer to be out when it's much more enjoyable for me.  Ok, to be fair, I did hunt the first three days of the gun season when the wind was blowing like crazy so I'm not a total baby.  However, yesterday I brought a friend and went muzzle loader hunting mostly because it was a beautiful day.  Raise of hands, for all those who would have liked to be out hunting yesterday!   Also, one other thing is I got to keep things happy on the home front so if it's what I call a "bad weather day" I can do all the things on the "honey do" list and my wife can't say "you go hunting all the time.
