what do you use ?

   :-\  what do you use, a harness and let them slip away or a pin and change to a new minnow every couple of days ? i prefer a pin to a harness as a harness seems to make the minnow dead and dull in the water! what do you think? :-\

I use a harness. Have never had one slip away unless a big one hits it and destroys the harness. I don't like to use a pin as everytime any northern hits them they are gone. I guess I'm just too lazy to replace the minnows. A pin is nice in the fact that they will last forever provided the line they are tied with is strong enough to take a good hit. Fact I just went out this last week and picked up a yrs supply of harnesses. I'd rather replace a broken harness than a lost minnow.

 When I think about it it would be cheaper to use a pin as my minnows don't cost nothing and I just spent 20 bucks on harnesses.

Just tried this out the last week. A live one on a harness and a red and white golf ball on a teaser. About 1/3 of them come into the golf ball.

Which gets me to thinking. (oh oh) I'm wondering if the spinning golf ball might get their attention but the others go to the decoy after spotting it.? I have the ball about 2' above the decoy. I did see more fish after putting the golf ball down the hole, that's why I'm wondering. I havn't tested it long enough it may have just been the weather too.
