Mama, the boy, and me decided to catch a meal of panfish.
I musta drilled 50 holes before we found some active fish.  :banghead:
At first we set Mama up in the house, while we hole hopped...she soon got bored of sitting in the house and decided to join us.

We ended up catching a few for our meal  :chef: ..................

A Buddy and I pulled the house out last night and spent the evening catching bottle bass and watching grown ups on the TV.  Caught 3 or 4 small eyes and some Rock Bass.  He had one break his line early this morning.  Might have to try for some of those big perch next weekend ;)

Ever get that bug when you figure it's time for a road trip?

Welp, I got the bug and headed west with my son. We decided somewhere in central MN.
We both got up around 4:30 a.m., made coffee and packed up. Once on the road we stopped in St. Cloud for breakfast at the local Burger King, then back on the road. We met up with the General at his house, tranfered our stuff to his truck, then back on the road for another hour. We ended up at a lake (that I promised not to disclose) and proceeded to unload. Once we got to the GPS spot, we drilled some holes and set up....and let's just say....we caught more than just a few...

Some of the perch we caught, were so huge...we had to throw them on the hood of the ranger...  ;D

After we got done fish'in the perch lake, we headed back south to fish a crappie lake. And caught more than a few there!  :happy1:

All in all, it was a good choice to get away for awhile...sometimes ya just gotta do it! Good times, and great friends!

As we were all eating breakfast this morning I told the wife i should quit my job and become a fishing guide.  I don't think she thought that was a good idea.  Maybe I'll ask her again as she's eating some of those tasty viddles.

By the looks of that photo I was wondering if you guys were really commercial fisherman. What size commercial nets were you using?

All kidding aside It's nice to see some successful outings like that. Fishing's fun and catching the frosting on the cake.

Hey General,

If you want to be a guide I'd recommend you wait till that pension rolls in first. Nice going you guys.  :happy1:

For those of you that know me, I can't sit around for long....
Me and the boy hit a lake we haven't been on yet this winter.
We fished in 25 fow with wax worms on some new jigs we purchased at the Rush Point store.
Most fish were suspended 10 feet off the bottom, and slammed our new offerings as they dropped down.

So, in short....we got a few for dinner....  :happy1:

I'm think'in this will be (was) the last outing of the year for me.
We went out just to see how the ice was.
I estimate that the ice will be out around here by next weekend.
My son and I took the boat out (wearing the proper gear) and tried to get up on the ice pack. But just the weight of us and the boat kept pushing the ice down. I could pop holes through the ice with the push pole. We did try to fish some, and caught zip.

So, if ya go out...be very carefull, and bring the proper gear!
