With out having been on the scene I can see it happening, the shooting. I used to work at a college and we would often get bears on campus. Now these are suppose to be smart kids going to school here but when they would see a bear they would think they were at a petting zoo. Some people from inside of cities don't have a clue about wild animals. Since this was a city and it sounds like a residential area I would guess there was a concern about having a partially doped up wild animal in with a gathering crowd of people. Also have to factor in if the bear was coming into town it might have lost its fear of people.

yea, i can see your point. kinda reminds me back in my younger days up in the talmoon/marcell area when the garbage/dumps use to be 1 big hole dug in the woods. ya'all would get there early enough and line up and park like you where at an outdoor movie theater waiting for the bear to come in and eat. people would walk within 5-10 feet of these wild animals like they where at a zoo?????????  :banghead: :banghead: dufases!!!!!
