Seems a bit goofy, but, having to use nets with a larger mesh size along with changing the dates it occurs, definitely can reduce the number of males harvested... Breath of fresh air to see our DNR step up in the name of conservation, even though it means change will come to anglers, something they have avoided in the past..

What a sad state of affairs,to little to late as far as I'm concerned,we would'nt be in this perdictement if it was'nt for the netters pilaging the lake during spawn,worse yet netting w/o accountability via vodeo tapes this spring,now the DNR has the authority to make changes in the name of conservation (which they have had all along),short of a complete lake shut down we have this as a possible fix,mean while the netting continues,judging by the pics of netted fish mess size has nothing to do with whats taking place.

little too late & doubtful our DNR will use the backbone they have, could easily yank this gill netting agreement.. No court ruled gill nets in mille lacs, nothing more than an agreement, which has & is destroying... Ban the worthless things...
