Snowed a good 5 inches here in northern Aitkin county this weekend, maybe more around the Big Sandy Lake area.

It was wet heavy snow, then it got down to 14 last night and set it up very nicely. Put 25 miles on the new sled. The ditches have some water under the snow in low places. Over all, not that bad of riding between the lake and the ditch. The lake riding was on Sat.

On Sat. night and part of Sunday it rained heavy, putting 2-3 inches of water on the lake.

I would give it a few days. The snow was soaking up the water pretty good already Sunday night. Then it froze pretty good during the over night hours. I would think after a few more nights of cold weather, most of the water will have frozen.

Pay attention!!! many spear holes that were marked are now under the snow cover. The water on the ice may have re-opened some of these holes and one could go right through the ice on the wheeler, sled or even walking

 Take Care, Chuck
