About 7 years ago I took my daughter to lake minnetonka for some tip up fishing.  As we were headed out to our normal spot we walked passed a persons dock and she told me she wanted her new tip up put at the end of a persons dock.  Only about 4 feet of water.  I tried to persuade her into putting it out a little bit farther from shore because there wasn't enough water for the fish under the ice.  She persisted and I gave in.  I drilled the hole and she set up her new tip up all by herself.  Less than 30 min later the flag went up and she pulled in this 38 inch pike.  We learned a valuable lesson that day.  We now always put at least 1 tip up on the inside weed line.  We always catch our biggest pike on the inside, shallow water.

She also stepped in a hole and soaked her foot in ice water.  An other fisherman offered a warm seat in his house for us to dry her boot off and warm hot coco.  She was in heaven.  We see this old timer out there every year.  He has also given us cleaned and frozen bags of sunfish just so he can start fishing again.
