I had a pretty good day on mille lacs.  Ended up keeping 16 nice perch and 2 walleyes that were small enough.  Released 12 slot fish.  Only caught 3 fish while jigging.  Did a bunch of hole hopping in 31 feet of water with a rainbow minnow on a plain red hook.  When i hit a hole with active fish i would catch 2 or 3 fish.  All but 4 of the walleyes were caught on tip ups at the bottom of the dropoffs.
Anything that is free is worth saving up for.
