Anyone have experience with a Ruger single six 22LR 22 Mag pistol? How you like it and what barrel length 4⅝, 5½, 6½, 7½, 9½ inches ? How much different is the 22 mag to the 22 LR? I am thinking of getting a stainsless  5.5” or  6.5”. Thanks Tink

if your just looking for a plinker to go shoot cans down and knock the occasional stupid smug red squirrel out of a tree 5 1/2 or 6 1/2 is perfect. more barrel is better for accuracy with a 22... also if your plinking away with it, your basic 22lr is cheap to shoot and ammo is usally everywhere when people aren't all freaking out over it. plus it's something you can teach a kid to shoot with as 22lr is very kind to them. i've got a few 22lr and usually bring em both with as they're a blast to plink away with.

The Ruger is a good solid gun. The longer barrel will help with accuracy. The mag round is potent for any critter smaller than coyote at the appropriate range. My experience is that the mag is about 1/4 to 1/3 more power than the LR. If you buy it just for plinking the extra cyl is handy to have just because. I have Ruger 357 with 9MM and RGH 22LR with 22 mag. Both work the same wtih either cyl.
