Help pulling out the permanent

I have a 14ft camper from the 60's that is converted into an ice shack. Obvioiusly can't drive on the ice yet, but would love to get it out onto Wayzata bay on Tonka or Medicine Lake, the kicker is I don't have a 4 wheeler. So here's my question - anyone have a 4 wheeler for rent or know where I can rent one that would be capable of pulling something like this out there?

With the ice conditions that are being reported down in that neck of the woods, are you sure thats such a great idea?

 Being from the 60s and being 14ft long, I'm not too sure that thing is any lighter than a car.

 Not a fourwheeler made that could take that kind of tongue weight

The guy I bought it from towed it with his wheeler on buffalo lake regularly, but I have never tried it since I don't have a 4 wheeler. I wondered about the tongue weight too.

I thought I might get it out this weekend. . . I went to medicine lake over my lunch hour and there are 3 or 4 campers just like mine out there now, about 15 permanents as well. I'm thinking they must have towed those out with a 4 wheeler unless they were completely insane and drove out with a truck. Needless to say, I am NOT that crazy. Hopefully ice will be even better by this weekend.

Well be careful..check that ice good and often. Just because someone else is out there don't mean it's safe for that kind of weight.

I hear you buff. Thanks for the advice. I will probably give it another week or so, stick with the portable.

Give Joe Harty a call over at Harty's Bait shop located on the south east corner of Medicine Lake. He regularly patrols the lake on his ATV. He was putting out thin ice signs around the lake on Monday when I was there.

There was plenty of ice for perms and wheelers where I fished, but like I said, stop and talk to Joe before you go wondering around the lake.

I have a Polaris 700 4x4 that I could probably show up with when you find out about the ice. Rember, you sink it, you bought it.
