Fishing is excellent! Drifting with a crawler/leech harnesses the go to method as the water warms. On the entire south shore such as Twin Islands, Long Point, the fields, Zippel Bay, Morris Point and Lighthouse gaps, try 5-15 feet with hammered gold, orange, or rainbow minnow spinners. Big Traverse Bay, Garden, Knight and Bridges and Little Oak Islands are doing well in 12-30'.  Some reports of jigging still in 26-32'.

On the Rainy River, water has cleared.  Fishing still better near shorelines and docks throwing plugs or jigging in 10-15.  Smallmouth bass bite strong near rocky areas.

Up at the NW Angle, Little Oak, Flag and Brush Islands doing well jigging or pulling spinners in 20-30'. On the Canada side, Falcon Island in 23-26 feet. Stay near reefs and island points for best bite. Muskies biting in sand bays and boulder areas.  Resorts have availability, for info on lodging and guiding, www.LakeoftheWoodsMN.com/lodging
