:fudd: DNR closes wolf season in northeast Minnesota :Hunter:

(Released December 4, 2014)

 :coffee: .........
Wolf hunting and trapping in the northeast zone will close for 2014 at the end of shooting and trapping hours on Friday, Dec. 5, according to the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources.

The harvest target for the northeast zone during the 2014 late firearms season was 35 wolves. There were 30 registered when the DNR initiated season closure.

Wolf hunting and trapping continues in the northwest and east-central wolf zones for anyone with a valid license. The late season in those zones is scheduled to end on Friday, Jan. 31, or whenever the target harvest is expected to be met, whichever comes first.

As of Dec. 4, hunters and trappers had harvested 22 wolves in the northwest zone and none in the east-central zone during the late season.

Complete wolf hunting information, including a map of the wolf zones, is available online. Information about wolf management is also available online.
