WTF is America coming to

Went new truck shopping with a friend and he wants a Chevy.  We were looking at the sticker and it said 40% of the content was US.  Chevy is supposed to be The heartbeat of America.  Up until my last truck I've been a Chevy guy and said if they ever got an ecoboost I'd be back.  Well they have just lost any future truck purchases from me if this doesn't change.

You haven't heard "The heartbeat of America" in a long while have you? The last China Motors I mean G M car I had was predominately assembled in Mexico. The fly wheel split in two.  They do not even throw in a bungee cord to keep the tailgate up with their new trucks.

My last GMC truck ended up with the Active Fuel management problem and being Ken you said the tailgate I did have to take that mechanism apart once to clean it out so the tailgate would stay shut.  Other than that it was a great truck.  But I'm sorry no more.  They should be thrown in jail for false advertising

Easy guyz.... GM still makes a great product backed by the best warrenty of the big 3,also if you have issues where your GM truck was assembled take a look@ the vin#,the 1st digit 1,2or3 tells the story,3 is assembled in mexico,I see few pickups assembled in mexico.Just think of all the rice burners assembled here in the states,I wonder if the japs have a problem with that?Well maybe not as the profits funnel back to the homeland.

I agree the tailgate handle on the older GM trucks was crapty,just one look at the handle you could tell there wasn't a seal or cover to keep the grit/salt out...But some regular use of WD40 made a difference during winter months.

If I was from Japan yes I would have a problem with that.  Like tommy boy says I can take a dump in a box and stamp it guaranteed if it makes you feel safe it's still just a dump.  If I'm spending $40 grand on a new truck it's going to be spent as much as I can lining the pockets of Americans.  40% is pathetic.

Sorry Glenn no I'm not.  Probably because of the $60,000 year Union worker putting on bumpers with another 20k a year in benefits that caused a great truck like Chevy into this 40% mess.  When that person should probably make $15 an hour.  Could also be corporate greed.  Doesn't much matter a Chevy truck is now nothing more than a foreign POS.  When they get back to to their origins I may think it over again.
