Looks like the walleyes are still biting good and really don't have a preference of any color or size bait.

Our groups have caught lots ot eyes, a couple
crappies and a few really nice gators.

The ice is getting pretty thick at about 24" + so anyone coming up - it might be a good idea to bring an extension for the auger.

The access and roads are great and you can travel just about anywhere you want to right now because there is not a lot of snow. It's a big lake and a lot of fishing spots.

The group from the cabin headed out to the end of Agassiz road to see what they can find out there.

Chisholm Couple are off in a different direction for the hunt and search.

Russ was asked by guys in a rental house to re-open the holes in their house because they were starting to freeze in. So he starts whipping through the house with the auger from hole to hole until he heard lots of hollering.

They yelled pretty loud telling him to stop. He thought he was doing a pretty good job opening the holes until they told him that the last hole he drilled had a line down.

He had lots of wraps of line and half of the rod wrapped around the auger by the time they yelled!
Busted the tip off that rod with no problem.

Ooops - bummer!   :(

Russ gave them one of his rods to replace it so they could keep fishing -

Sure hope they catch lots of fish!!  :)

Everybody is pretty much getting their limits of walleyes this weekend. The cabin group ended up with 20+ nice ones, 3 northerns, a couple perch and 1 crappie fishing close to the rental houses.

There was a nice 37" northern caught and released. Sure hope they got a picture.

Russ is moving houses today to about 1 1/2 miles farther out. The crappie bite seems to be pretty fair in that area. The guys in the house with the drilling "oops" are offering to help him so they must not be too mad at him    :-\

Can't wait to get there next Saturday and catch and release some of those nice wallys and maybe see a crappie or two.
