I have a lowrance ifinder h2o c gps and have a question about the cigarette lighter power.  If you have the unit plugged into the cigarette lighter does yours still need batteries in it to work?  When plugging mine in it will not work unless there are batteries in it?  Does yours do this?  Thanks!  Mopad

Don't know.  Never tried it without batteries and the cig plug.

The best I saw was $319 for the H2OC plus 2007 LakeMaster chip.  I picked my h2oc up for $219 or around there.

Hi BigFishGuy (if that's your real name)
I got mine last year at the Boat Show - from Marine General. I thought their price was good and then the guy there talked me into getting the expedition for 30 bucks more. I think I paid $279. I believe it has an altimeter.

A funny thing happened after that. About 2 weeks later I was up at Cabela's in Rogers. I asked the salesman in the GPS department to tell me about the Expedition (I'll do anything to avoid reading the manual). He says, "I've never heard of it."

Then he gets on the internet at the store and starts reading the features and says "Wow this has all the features of the Hunt - I'm not sure why anyone would buy the hunt when they can buy an Expedition."

I'm still not sure what the difference is between them but made me feel good about spending the extra $30.

I boughht an IFinder H2O last summer and also found that the unit would not work with the cigarette lighter unless batteries were in place.  I contacted Lowrance and they told me that something was wrong and the unit should work without batteries in the cig adapter.  I exchanged it at the outfitter with no questions asked and now it works without the batteries.  There might be something wrong with the unit connector or internally.  In any case take it back and exchange it.  Hope this helps.

I have the H2OC too, and it works fine without batteries when using the cig adapter.

There was a problem last year with a lot of the cigarette adapters being bad, so more than likely it's just the adapter.

Thanks guys for checking that out!  The cig adapter must be bad because it will drain the batteries whiles its plugged in.  Do I get ahold of lowrance or the place i bought it from?  Thanks again guys!

Call Lowrance, they will probably send you a new adapter. No questions asked. Thats what I've been hearing.
