Met the new CO near remer

While I was out checking my traps and setting more I was checked by the new CO in our area.  He had already checked my snares earlier in the week and verified that I had my trap tags on them and he also checked to make sure that I had already purchased my new lisence for the year.  I then informed him of the other lakes and flowages that I was going to be setting later in the day.  He was pretty sure that nobody had set any traps were I was headed.  I very nice guy and good to see somebody out and off the beaten path.   I love my new snow shoes.  I can get a lot farther away from the roads with less effort.

I believe I met him at the eelpout fest. He was a decent guy.

larry did come out of retirement for pout fest, tagged neighbor's grandkid for unattended line while he stepped outta the house.  yes, this happened... proves my point.

  I got checked by him 2-4 times a year for quite a few years.    Fishing and duck hunting.   Sometimes it was night fishing.  Sometimes it was late season duck hunting.  I didn't think he was an a$$ at all.  Go through the routine.  Show your lic. sweep your shells with a magnet and then shoot the bull about the guys trying to pass off tickets to kids that would not even need a lic.  Proves my point.
