                A how-to on :Turkey: :fudd:

  :coffee: ....
Tips on how to bag a :Turkey: in the spring season which opens Wednesday.

• Know where they are and don't spook them on your way to your first calling spot,

• Make sure they hear your call, but don't crank up the volume too high,

• Be still ... perfectly still, or be under the cover of a blind,

• Match yourselves to the background of the blind (e.g., if your background is black, dress and paint your face black),

• Make sure you can put BB's in the head/neck at 40 yards, or bring them in closer,

• Don't move locations if you have a clue they are in the area, you'll get busted ... because they are on their way in, :bonk:

• BE PATIENT,

• Learn how to yelp from a mouth call, you may need this to seal the deal,

• Bear down and make sure that bead or pin is right where it needs to be before squeezing or releasing,

• Have an alternate hunting spot or two,

• Listen ... they may come in silent and those footsteps behind you might be the BOSS (gobbler),

• Don't be afraid to hunt all day, it can happen at any hour,

• Buy a Thermacell,

• Wear tick repellent,

• Bring a butt pad,

• Keep your eyes peeled,

• If at first you don't succeed, try it without a decoy ... or try a different decoy set,

• Be willing to change the pitch of your calling, you don't know what turns him on,

• If you're really serious and don't want to leave your spot, wear Depends,

• If all else fails, head to the grocery store. :banghead:

Good luck, be safe and enjoy the hunt!
