Some real big wind blew in over the weekend and it really shut the bite down both on the river (Sharpe) and on Oahe. I took a few days off then guided repeat customers George and Jeff Thomas who were on there way to Wyoming to do an annual hunting trip. It was a really tough bite both places and they did manage to get some walleye, catfish, white bass and smallmouth (One a 21 inch 5lb plus fish) but compared to their last trip here it was not as good. I think the bite was off due to the big winds that blew for two days and expect things to straighten up over the next few days. A couple of great guys and hopefully they will have a great hunt next week. Crawlers still going but minnows are working too so using either will produce fish. I think minnows are better for the bass. Ten fow or less on Sharpe and 20 to 35 fow on Oahe is where we put the baits.
