Anyone know what happened to Northern Outfitters? Website is still up; lists a FL location.  Valid phone number but no response to several messages/emails.

Thanks,
That's the impression I'm getting. Pity. The EXP boots were fabulous. Mine are like new. Was trying to get a pair for my wife.

Spoke with the owner of Northern Outfitters. They are down to a skeleton crew and going out of business.
Inmates in a Utah prison, using a 1940's French injection molding machine, would fuse the sewn uppers to the lowers with a plastics compound. Replacement parts for the machine are no longer available and the inmates can no longer manufacture any.
The three remaining US boot manufacturers are running at capacity producing military boots with the overflow being made in China.  All the expert sewers have moved on to other jobs.
The Chinese would require a minimum of 100,000 boots per year which isn't cost effective when N.O. only sold 1,000 pair per year.
Looks as though what was once the world's lightest/warmest boot is history.
Thought you guys would be interested in the above.
