Not sure if anyone was aware of this, but the eye's are biting very well in the evenings in the St Louis Bay. There is even enough ice to drive on, saw 13 trucks on the bay this afternoon. Last weekend I was out and there was a good 13", probably more after this weeks below zero temps all week.

Do you now where to go on the bay I'm not really up on the rules for border waters but would be interested in trying this out since it's close to home. Where do you go on at and what do you use for bait.

On the Minnesota side, you go across the lift bridge and out to Park point at the very end. You will see where everybody is going out on to the ice. The way I see it, you can fish from bank to bank, just like the river between Wis. and Minnesota.

Yes, you can fish safely anywhere in the bay with MN license.

The easiest way out is from Barkers Island (where the whakleback freighter is along 2/53. Using this point of access means you don't have to go thru the downtown area and over the lift bridge and down 2 miles of 30mph zone residential area of park point.

IF you plan on driving your truck out, then you better go down park point as there isn't a way to get on the ice with a pickup from Barkers that I know of.
