TEMPE, Ariz. -- Adrian Peterson did not want to gloat, but upon meeting with reporters on Monday following his ultra-successful debut with the Arizona Cardinals the previous day, when he ran 26 times for 134 yards and two touchdowns, he could not help himself.

Being the jaded, fatalistic Vikings fan that I am (and many of us are), I'm glad he didn't put up those numbers against us.

There would have been more than just gloating and it would have been insufferable.
